Mikaela's POV[]

I woke to loud knocking on my door. I groaned. What's the point of having your own cabin, I thought, if people are still going to bother you?

The main reason I'd chosen to stay in the Posiedon cabin rather than the Athena one was so that I could be by myself. I could scarcely tell somone around here my name without getting, "Jackson? Wait, are you Percy Jackson's daughter? Oh my gods I adore your parents they're so awesome-" bla, bla bla. No one cared who / was. Why should they, when my parents were the 'Saviours of Olympus'?

I hadn't even seen my parents in months. I lived with them in New Rome during the school year, but went to Camp Half-Blood during the summer. This was the situation for most greek legacies nowadays, since Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter made peace.

"Kae!" I voice yelled through the door, followed by more knocking.

I got up and opened the door, revealing my friend Devon Grace.

Devon's parents were heroes too, but not nearly as famous as mine, at least not here. (His dad was still sort of a legend at Camp Jupiter.) He lived in the Aphrodite cabin, as he was decidedly more friendly than me. Of course, almost anyone would choose even the color-coded neat freaks of cabin 10 over the barren loneliness of cabin 1.

"You're gonna be late for-" he started, but then covered his mouth, supressing a laugh. I looked down and realized I was wearing the 'Finding Nemo' pajamas my dad had gotten for me as a joke, but I actually kind of liked.

I glared at him.

"They were a gift." I said through gritted teeth.

"Ya, sure they were, Nemo."

I snatched a copy of Architectural Digest off a shelf and tried to smack him with it, but he stopped my wrist.

"I just came to tell you that you should hurry up and get to the dining pavilion before breakfast is over."

I freed my arm and slammed the door in his face so I could get dressed.
