Hera and Gaea

Gaea

Leto.

Finally after years of scrying I had figured out the mother of the other two gods. Leto. My children the titans were losing this war, and I had to make sure the twins from my vision would never exist. I moved my consciousness up through the ground of their mountain, in front of where Hera was standing.

She gasped and stumbled back. "Grandmother! What- what are you doing here?"

I did my best to smile in a friendly matter. "Do not fear. I am here only to warn you."

She looked at me warily. "Warn me about what?"

I darkened my expression. "Leto. You must be careful with her. She is trying to steal your husband from you."

Hera's eyes widened. "What? How dare she!"

"I am afraid it is true."

Hera clenched her fists. "When I get my hands on her-" She looked at me. "Thank you for the information."

I smiled as she stormed off. No, thank you. I thought as I drifted back off into sleep.

Hera

I found Leto crossing the courtyard. She smiled sweetly at me. "Hello, Hera! How have you-"

"Drop the act. I'm in no mood."

She frowned slightly. "What do you-"

"Stay. Away. From my. Husband." I said sternly, glaring at her.

Her kind expression darkened. "What are you talking-"

"Shut up. I know what you're up to, and it ends now. I am the one that is going to rule the world once this is over, not you. And you would be better off to do as I say unless you wish to face the same fate as the rest of your kind."

The titaness's silvery eyes flared. "How dare you speak to me like that!"

"Oh, you don't want to see how much I dare." I stepped toward her. "Stay. Away. From. Zeus."

For a moment Leto's expression was furious. Then she seemed to remember something. She grinned in a condescending manner and whispered,

"Too late."

It took me a moment to realize what she meant. I stared at her in horror, just noticing the unusual tightness of her gray chiton around the stomach.

"You- you-!" My mind raced. Then I noticed the lavender energy collecting around my hands. The makings of a spell. "I forbid you from giving birth anywhere in the land see, or sky. In any realm I hold dominion over, any realm that exists."

Leto's smug expression melted. "No... you wouldn't-"

I grabbed her wrist and the purple energy enveloped her, putting the spell into effect. She stared at me for a moment, her silver-yellow eyes full of pure hatred. Then she turned and ran out of the courtyard.

I smiled and turned back toward the throne room. Zeus was in for an earful.
