Please keep in mind- these are my opinion and my opinion only. If one of these is indictive of your own OC, its up to you whether you take what I say to heart or not.
5. X is a Child of Zeus/Poseiden/Hades[]
While I understand the appeal I always sigh out a little bit when a new character is revealed to be a child of these three. Children of the Big Three are often prone to recyecling the Percy Jackson story, being OP little monsters, or being very boring. Overall, these characters just aren't very "Original".
4. Superhero Level Powers[]
I really hate it when demigods get the suphero tratement. If you remember in the books, Jason, who'd been basically training his whole life, could produce an uncontrolled storm and be drained for hours. However, in the lovely land of OC, Children of Zeus are able to casually zap others with controlled lightning bolts. Again, I see the appeal, but this is lazy writing for easy solutions to fights.
3. X is Deeply in Love With "Percy Jackson"[]
This one is better than the other ones for the simple reason that, if handled right, having a love interest from the main series can be great. But most of the time, having Thalia or Nico as a story's love interest means rewriting their personality to be either the most perfect or most angsty love interest ever. Normally, its more indictive of a crush on a character than of actual creativity.
2. The Goddess[]
If your character has more than three powers- stop and reconsider your life. Do it now.
1. Percy Jackson Reloaded[]
The absolute, worst thing imaginable is the Percy Jackson Reloaded scenario where the author basically rips off the story structure and perosnality traits of Percy Jackson, maybe giving him a new look, godly parent, and weapon. No. We don't want to read the same thing. You won't do it better.
Conclusion[]
Thats what I hate, that doesn't mean its wrong to do them. Do and write as you wish- this wiki should eb a safe place for you to learn to grwo in your writing abilities.
