Lying awake
at
3 AM.
Staring
at
the ceiling.
The
sounds
never stop.
Traffic,
wind.
The
ticking
of
your clock.
Stare
up.
Think.
Ponder.
Lie
on
your bed.
Waiting
for
sleep.
4 AM.
You
lie
there.
Wishing
for sleep.
That
never
comes.
5 AM.
Lie
on
your bed.
And
listen
to
the sounds.
A
bird
chirps.
Frustration.
You
want
to
yell.
But
you
don't.
Finally,
sleep comes.
7 AM.
You are woken
by
your
alarm clock.
You
dread
the next
sleepless night.
